Daniel is a construction lawyer based in Bristol.In his current capacity he provides procurement and contract management expertise to the supply chain of EDF in relation to the construction of a significant power infrastructure asset in the UK. He focuses on the Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC (MEH) elements of the project. In this capacity he assisted in the establishment of and provides ongoing advice regarding the Alliance form of contract being pioneered by EDF in the MEH programme. He also provides cradle to grave services for the project on the full suite of NEC forms of contract.Daniel cut his teeth as a construction lawyer working on several high value disputes regarding the Gautrain Rapid Rail Link megaproject. In addition to the formal disputes work, he was part of the team providing strategic legal advice to the Bombela Civils Joint Venture in relation to its relationship with the Gauteng Provincial Government. He advised on numerous aspects of the suite of bespoke PPP contracts and has assisted in drafting amendments to the contracts. He has represented contractors, insurers and construction professionals in disputes of varying complexity and value.His litigation expertise includes mediation, adjudication and arbitration proceedings, as well as those conducted in the South African Magistrates’ and High Courts.Daniel's transactional was a member of the team which advised sponsors and lenders on the South African REIPP programme.Daniel holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (majoring in Financial Accounting) and an LLB degree from the University of Cape Town. He is a member of the Cape of Good Hope and the Northern Provinces Law Societies. He has also authored a number of articles in the field of construction law.
