Responsible for managing project to design a new decay spectroscopy setup for use in nuclear physics experiments at international research labs.Supervising Bachelor student projects and mentoring PhD students. Heavily involved in modernising nuclear physics undergraduate labs.Performing experiments and analysing complex data sets to publish cutting-edge nuclear structure research in international peer-reviewed journals.Involved in outreach events including running the physics departments contribution to Kulturnatten.

Main responsibility is developing and commissioning the conversion electron spectrometer, SPEDE. This includes integrating SPEDE with the MINIBALL array at the newly upgraded HIE-ISOLDE in CERN.Alongside this, continuing development of GEANT4 simulations for the setups SAGE, SPEDE, and the MARA focal plane setup in the NPTOOL framework.To this end becoming a member of the NPTOOL Development team.Alongside this is the day to day contribution to maintaining a world class physics laboratory and providing support for external visitors to perform cutting edge nuclear physics research.

• Lead an international research programme in experimental nuclear structure physics focussing on spectroscopy of superheavy elements and Geant4 simulations of setups used• Wrote and had a proposal accepted to study 250Fm with an international collaboration at JYFL• Continued development of SAGE Geant4 simulation• Development of new Geant4 simulations for SPEDE setup at JYFL and AlBeGa setup at GSI• Member of a number of international collaborations including SAGE, SPEDE and TASCA
