sHYp is working towards producing green hydrogen and valuable coproducts from seawater. My role is to lead a team of researchers to optimize and scale-up our membraneless electrolyzers. We do this by combining fundamental electrochemistry research, CFD simulations, small-scale electrochemical cell experimentation, and multi-cell stack development.

The projects that I worked on allowed me to gain skills in electrochemical experimentation and analysis, 3D modelling of electrochemical cells, machine learning-based optimization techniques, and verbal and written communication skills.

Was awarded the DoE SCGSR fellowship to perform research on CO2 electroreduction at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The focus of the project was to utilize machine learning-based optimization methods to optimize a CO2 electroreduction device operating under pulsating voltage conditions. During this project I learned skills in electrolyzer.

My responsibilities included setting up and monitoring in vitro drug permeation tests, analyzing the data, and reporting this data in the forms of a technical paper, presentation, and a poster. In addition, I used the modeling program, COMSOL, to model the behavior of the drug in the skin without having to do the in vitro tests.

Iowa City, Iowa Area

I worked in an Immunology lab at the University of Iowa. I completed a project and gave a poster presentation on that project. I learned many laboratory skills such as cell culture, transformation, and use of a centrifuge. I also learned a lot about experimental design and the patience required for this type of research.
