Acted as aquatics subject-matter expert in support of WSP projects throughout Western Canada. I leveraged my experience with Provincial and Federal regulatory requirements to plan, assess and permit infrastructure projects, including pipelines, flood mitigation and hydroelectric developments. As the resident Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), my primary focus on the Site C project was the environmental support and oversight of any civil works that occur within the Peace River - or those that pose a risk to aquatic life. Regular job tasks included: mitigation planning & execution, environmental inspection & reporting, and fish salvage planning & execution. I also acted as a project resource on regulatory compliance and wildlife biology, managing the seasonal migratory bird, amphibian, and reptile monitoring programs.

In this position, I was responsible for leading junior personnel during aquatic & wetland assessments for projects throughout Alberta & BC - including Coastal GasLink, TMEP and Pembina-Keephills. Our group provided support to the proponents for any issues relating to surface water management & fish habitat along the ROW and associated access routes – including water quality programs for trenchless crossings. Our assessments provided biophysical & geospatial data that was used to guide construction practices & maintain regulatory compliance.

In this position, I managed the personnel responsible for environmental monitoring & compliance reporting on the Vesta SWX pipeline project. Our group provided support to the prime contractor for any issues relating to construction monitoring, soil & surface water management, waste disposal, bio-security, ESC & environmental releases. We worked in tandem with the project team to ensure that construction practices adhered to regulatory and project-level commitments.

In this position, I managed the teams responsible for environmental monitoring & compliance reporting on the TL 267 & Bipole III projects. In conjunction with client representatives, our group provided support to the survey, geotechnical & construction teams for any issues related to surface water management, access planning, SAR/Wildlife, ESC & environmental releases. We worked side by side with our colleagues to ensure that both construction and access practices adhered to federal, provincial and project-level commitments - a need highlighted by several project specific species-at-risk and bio-security concerns.
