U.S. EPA’s ENERGY STAR Industrial program supports hundreds of industrial facilities to increase their energy efficiency, which reduces production costs, green house gases and other air emissions. As a sector manager I oversee ENERGY STAR industrial plant certification and support the development of energy management tools and resources for several industrial sectors.

Developed material flow analysis of garnet, which is used as an industrial abrasive, from geographic source to points of disposal, reuse and recycling. The project identified areas where to optimize recovery of wasted garnet.

Performed initial review of journal manuscripts and provided analytical support for assessing journal time, impact, and reach metrics.

Designed and lead assignment on developing a material flow analysis of the stocks, flows and sinks of water, nitrogen and phosphorus within the New York City water supply, delivery and treatment systems.

Mapped and analyzed first ever reverse supply chain (material flow analysis) for the State's Bottle Bill. • Interviewed 100+ material recovery facilities, PET and aluminum reclaimers, glass beneficiators, distribution contractors, beverage industry representatives and material brokers on the flow of recycled materials from point of collection to reuse.• Compared end uses of beverage containers between curbside recycling and beverage redemption systems.• Quantified material recovered through bottle redemption system allowing for state for the first time to report on quantity of materials recovered for recycling through beverage redemption system.

Oversaw operational, environmental and contractual compliance, human resources, procurement and financial aspects for $29 million, 120 person staff food security program.• Advised on compliance measures to meet requirements for federal environmental regulations.• Established and maintained personnel policies to ensure compliance with local labor and tax law and USAID regulations, and as necessary, consulted with local labor and tax lawyers.• Managed program budget, leading program budget realignment and justification processes. • Provided technical input and thought leadership in GIS application analysis and tools.

Provided senior level project management support to a portfolio of projects within the Environment and Energy Sector. Conducted research for Development Specialists in areas of environmental compliance and conservation priority setting. Selected activities include:• Synthesized conservation priority setting methodologies for USAID biodiversity strategy. • Coordinated development of Best Practice Review for zoonotic disease medical waste disposal in rural areas. • Provided research support for flooring and plumbing LCA certification programs for APEC Green Building Conference.• Interim Operations Manager, Indonesia Urban Water Sanitation and Hygiene Program

Presented strategic business development opportunities to small and medium-sized export-ready, fair trade, and natural and organic manufacturers. Developed market linkages between specialty food producers, traders and mass merchants.

Taught Social Studies in an at-risk high school from a curriculum that focused on natural resources of the Caribbean and taught first year high school mathematics.
