Meet Robbie will provide people who manage online and hybrid governance meetings a suite of tools to improve the effectiveness, transparency, and productivity of meetings for participants. The suite of tools will make it easier for secretaries to keep minutes; chair people to structure discussion and establish a set of rules to avoid contention and disruptions; members to make motions, to request recognition to speak, and to vote; public participants a way to stay informed about what is happening in a meeting and a way to request recognition to speak if appropriate.Meet Robbie leverages over a century of knowledge that has been codified in Robert's Rules of Order. Governance groups will be able to use the rules that are appropriate for their members and benefit from both tools for any meeting and rules that make sense for each group.

Volunteering with the Technology and Innovation Center that is part of the Ghana National Library Authority. The Authority is responsible for 67 library branches and over 700 senior high school libraries. The Technology and Innovation group has 10 permanent staff members and is 1) Implementing open source library management systems (Evergreen and Koha) for the branches and high schools 2) Implementing a custom / open source digital library system to make ebooks and audiobooks available to smart phone users 3) Variety of networking and integration projects directed towards providing library users and students access to continuous learning toolsI've come to 1) Raise the maturity of the development processes 2) Help the team make some key decisions on software architecture and design 3) Help the team create critical learning resources for both the technology staff and people using the software at the libraries.I've come to Ghana for six months, through the Volunteer Partnerships of West Africa organization (www.vpwa.org).
