Daniel Martinez uses his twenty plus years of public service experience to build strong ties between the disability, business and civic communities and Arizona Industries for the Blind.Dan’s public serve experience includes an unprecedented five terms as president of the Arizona Council of the Blind, three terms as Chairman of the Phoenix Mayor’s Commission on Disabilities Issues (MCDI). He also has served as Vice-chair of the Phoenix Human Relations Commission. He has served on the Community Block Grant Review Committee; the Vision Rehabilitation and Technology Expo Association board of directors and other groups.Currently Daniel chairs the Governor’s Council on Blindness and Visual Impairment and is a member of the Arizona State Rehabilitation Council..Legally blind since birth, Mr. Martinez is passionate about creating employment opportunities for people who are blind. He encourages and mentors his peers in preparing themselves for full integration into the community.An Arizona Department of Economic Security Certified Instructor, Dan provides vocational, diversity and development training to staff. He is also a frequent presenter on diversity, disability awareness and rules of order to community and civic groups.
