Oversaw quality control, assembled, and repaired boats as needed including bonding keels, decks, bulkheads, aligning keels and rudders, fairing, patching, and painting.

Responsible for a Beneteau 36.7 program based in Chicago. Worked part-time to maintain boat in top shape, perform repairs as needed, including general fiberglass repairs, hardware re-bedding, electrical maintenance, building of new lines, re-rigging of systems and buffing/waxing/cleaning. Maintained spares inventory and managed program budget. Responsible for setup/breakdown of boat for storage, launch, road transport and reassembly at national events. Delivered boat to ports within the Great Lakes per owner's wishes and delivered boat home after distance races.

Responsible for insides sales and service of major accounts such as Lewmar/Navtec, Harken and Maxwell hardware and was able to reduce Lewmar overhead costs by 20% through thorough planning of stock orders.Maintained a network of Lewmar/Navtec dealers, offered phone support for Lewmar products, advised on repairs and oversaw the Midwest Lewmar warranty service center. Developed, maintained, and managed online retail store selling sailing gear, boat parts, and rigging services.Oversaw backend processes, customer service, and fulfillment resulting in increased sales 30% over the course of one year.

Taught sailing classes to students ranging in age from 8-70 in O'Pen Bic and Flying Junior dinghies.

Oversaw desktop, laptop, and server production and repair for large batch orders of 20-400 computer systems. Managed and trained staff of up to eleven individuals and was active in hiring and termination of employees.Acted as liaison between executives, sales staff, and technical staff to schedule production and prioritize orders. Implemented policy changes that reduced on-delivery failure rates from 10% to under 2% in four weeks and increased output from 60 systems per day to 100 systems per day.

Taught sailing for Reed College Physical Education Department as an adjunct physical education instructor. Designed curriculum and worked with athletic department to ensure all goals were fulfilled. Brokered purchase of a fleet of Vanguard 15 sailboats for Reed college from previous employer and assisted in organizing a student-run sailing club and competitive racing team.

Was directly responsible for all operations of the sailing school and reported directly to the Willamette Sailing Club Board of Directors. Managed a staff of 14 instructors. Maintained fleet of 6 420s, 6 V15s, 24 Optis and 3 Boston Whalers. Duties included risk assessment of facilities and equipment, communicating goals to instructors, handling class registration and scheduling, correspondence with students and parents, compiling payroll, repairing equipment, working with local Coast Guard and Sheriff's offices, and filling in other roles as needed. Created and successfully executed a contingency plan to remain in operation for 6 weeks when facilities were made unavailable due to dredging at the Willamette Sailing Club.

Taught basic sailing to students aged 8-16 on Sunfish, Flying Scots and Hobie 16s. Taught racing tactics and safety procedures. Maintained rotating fleet of 40 Sunfish, 9 Flying Scots and 7 Hobie 16s. Learned basic boat maintenance. Learned rescue techniques and as head Hobie 16 instructor, our team was called on to carry out rescues beyond the ability of junior staff.

Assembled and cabled custom, ruggedized, high-end servers, LCDs, and RAIDs for combat deployment. Built avariety of machines ranging from a simple 1U server to a 12 drive fiber optic RAID. Learned basic soldering andcrimping skills. Became proficient in the integration of both Intel and Sun hardware.
