Daniel is the Senior Legal Associate at the Center for Justice and Accountability in San Francisco, CA, which investigates and holds accountable the world's worst human rights criminals through litigation in U.S. and foreign courts on behalf of the victims.He previously served as a United Nations Legal Officer before the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia in Phnom Penh and as an International Bar Association Fellow in the Trial and Appeals Chambers of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former-Yugoslavia in The Hague.Daniel taught international criminal, humanitarian and human rights law at Fordham Law School, where he was a Crowley Fellow in International Human Rights and Adjunct Professor, and has lectured widely on these topics.Prior to working with the United Nations, Daniel served a judicial clerkship in the Southern District of New York with the Hon. Robert L. Carter and was a fourth year litigation associate with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York specializing in sovereign nation litigation.He is admitted to practice in the State of New York, has passed the California Bar Examination (admission pending) and is a greffier before the Cambodian courts.He is also the founder and principal behind DEJURE DESIGN, which provides visual design services to human rights and social justice organizations seeking to make their work more accessible and engaging to target audiences.Daniel holds a dual-degree (J.D. and Maîtrise en Droit) from Columbia Law School / Paris I Sorbonne-Panthéon and a B.A. from Yale. He is bilingual in French and English.
