• Ensuring the effective, efficient and quality supply of medications to patients undertaking clinical trials. • Liaising with the Aseptic unit, Quality Assurance, research teams and Sponsors with regard to all pharmaceutical aspects of clinical trials involving pharmaceutical preparations, and to provide advice to research teams and the clinical trials team on aseptic preparation of products, including ATMPs.• To ensure that products are prepared according to agreed procedures and to… Show more • Ensuring the effective, efficient and quality supply of medications to patients undertaking clinical trials. • Liaising with the Aseptic unit, Quality Assurance, research teams and Sponsors with regard to all pharmaceutical aspects of clinical trials involving pharmaceutical preparations, and to provide advice to research teams and the clinical trials team on aseptic preparation of products, including ATMPs.• To ensure that products are prepared according to agreed procedures and to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and in the case of clinical trials, Good Clinical Practice (GCP).• Ensuring that all dispensing records, signature lists, audit trails, ethics approvals and any other required paperwork is kept up to date, maintained and stored for the necessary length of time in accordance with policies and procedures.• Ensuring that all pharmacy, and where appropriate nursing and medical, staff are appropriately advised and trained on the running and dispensing of the clinical trial.• To actively identify opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of the clinical trials service and to work with the Lead Pharmacists for Clinical Trials to harmonise and better the service• For all of our internally sponsored trials: in conjunction with the Senior Lead Pharmacist, be responsible for all issues around supply of IMP’s including to other centres. • To help ensure the safe storage and cost effective stock holding/supply for clinical trials in/from the aseptic unit. • To help ensure the quality and accuracy of drug stock levels and information on the pharmacy computer system and other accounting systems and to ensure timely reimbursement and payment from Sponsors.
