I am the Finance Business Partner for two business units within the Maritime sector of BAE Systems, playing a key role in driving the business forward, leading and influencing business decisions to maximise shareholder value and return. I have a strong involvement with new initiatives, investment appraisals, and the feasibility of new revenue streams whilst providing key financial support to decision-makers, ensuring I am a trusted adviser focused on adding value to those businesses.Previous to this role, I held a number of positions within the Commercial function of BAE Systems which is where I further developed my knowledge of different business units and customers as I was responsible for drafting, negotiating and signing a number of high-profile national and international contracts. Having worked in Commercial and Business Development roles within the Oil & Gas industry prior to joining BAE, this experience of working with overseas customers and negotiating export contracts proved pivotal in my success to date.I have recently graduated from the Commercial Leadership Programme (a programme for those selected as potential 'Future Leaders' within BAE Systems). This programme is managed and delivered by Cranfield University with the purpose to challenge and educate via simulated scenarios and classroom based learning to equip those who graduate with skills to lead in organisations as big as BAE in the future. Having already graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree, this leadership programme is a complementary addition to my educational qualifications.Having won 'Best Newcomer' in the 2023 #OneFinanceAwards, I am committed to building on my achievements and experiences to date through personal and professional growth to reach greater heights in my career.
