Currently I am in my Senior Year of studying to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at Howard University. I understand that if I am going to pursue engineering as a profession I have to take early extra steps. I maximize my resources to learn S.T.E.M material. This summer and this past winter break I have been working at a Civil Engineering Firm that does construction all over the country at their headquarters in the Chicago Area called FH Paschen to expose myself in the Engineering field. I take full advantage of my opportunities and resources so I can graduate in 4 years with an engineering degree. I want to join the workforce as a Civil Engineer with a focus around Transportation Engineering. I want to use my skills to increase integrated systems of people, money, information and equipment. As an Engineer, I want to improve lower income African American communities to help elevate the community to have the opportunity to join higher societal groups and bring more African Americans out of the lower class into the middle class. As an engineer I want to eliminate wastefulness in people not being involved in the black community in every city which can improve the black economy.Outside of pursuit for a Bachelor Degree of Civil Engineering, I am also a full time entrepreneur and creator of Koko Rose Beauty. Koko Rose Beauty addresses the problem of college students lacking access to high-quality, affordable, and conveniently located beauty supply products on campus. This issue particularly affects African American women currently at Howard University. Koko Rose Beauty aims to solve this problem by providing immediate on-campus access to beauty products, meeting the daily, weekly, and monthly needs of students. Additionally, Koko Rose Beauty recognizes the struggle of stylists in finding consistent beauty supplies for their services. To help stylists, Koko Rose Beauty offers a stream of high-quality, affordable beauty supply products on campus, with bulk orders available to last an entire semester. The company also provides braiding hair wholesale for events and organizations, such as supplying the entire Spring 2023 Fashion Show at Howard University.
