    I started my Greenkeeping Career at Royal Sydney as an apprentice. During this time, I have been under a detailed training program. All machinery used at the golf course, I have been trained and passed to use frequently. This includes items such as Greens Mowers, Tees Mowers, Fairway Mowers, Rough Mowers, Spray Rigs, Vehicles etc. I have been part of yearly golf course renovations completed twice per year targeting greens, surrounds and fairways and I have played different roles in this. I have completed course projects such as turf works, bunker repair and maintenance, renovations, watering programs in the warmer months, section work and team exercises. I have been apart of spray programs including using Spray Hawks with rigs on greens, spray rigs on fairways and surrounds and spot spraying using knapsacks. Used Rainbird Irrigation systems around the course and have used the control boxes and stations. I have also completed some repairs on the irrigation systems. I have also been able to pass on my experience and training to new starters and apprentices to get consistency on the golf course and so those team members can develop. I have passed on new ideas to the leadership team in areas where I think we can do things differently and where it can improve playability and visual improvements for our members. My TAFE learnings have always been up to date and passed all my tests and assignments in all subjects.

    As a Store Manager I led a team to achieve high levels of customer service and to help achieve positive results for the company. In my role I am accountable for everything that happens in the store. This includes areas such as paperwork/reports, audit requirements, training, merchandise standards, stock integrity and many more areas. Over the years I have gained a lot of experience that I have passed on to my team to help them progress in their careers. My role involved talking to the Area Manager Weekly and having store visits from the Regional Manager and the team from Head Office. I kept a close eye on our customer service scores and feedback and handle that area myself. This allowed me to problem solve and help get the best outcome for the customer, while at the same time I could pass that feedback on to my team for coaching purposes. I have rebuilt the safety culture in the store with the team having a great awareness and more training. Because of this I was nominated to represent my area to be the Safety Leader which allowed me to raise safety issues and to action anything required. I looked after the stores budgeting and rosters to ensure the store has the best platform to achieve growth and profit. One of the areas I am most passionate about is training my team. During my time at the store, I had spent time and trained each of the team members in different areas and at the same time I have learnt new areas as well. I come to work each day with a goal to learn at least one thing that I can pass onto my team and help to develop the store as a whole.

    In the role of Assistant Store Manager, I have managed and run the store day in, day out for trade. Finally, I look to coach and train the team to help expand the team knowledge and to improve the image of the company.
