Project And Administration Support For Day 80
My contribution to supporting the Royal Navy was crucial in guaranteeing a smooth and memorable experience that accurately represented the historical importance of the event. My main duty was to act as a liaison, facilitating collaboration between various agencies and organisations in order to establish a cohesive and streamlined operational structure.Initially, I developed strong lines of communication with important individuals and organisations such as the police, Portsmouth City Council, BBC, Coast Guard, and the King's Harbour Master. The intricate structure and large scope of the event, required cooperation and guarantee that all parties were in agreement with the main objectives of the event. In order to optimise communication, I created Excel spreadsheets that functioned as centralised databases of information, this was so each organisation knew who was part of each teamOne crucial component of my job was establishing connections with external entities. As part of my collaboration with the police, I carefully collaborated with their planning team for the event to link each organisation together. This involved coordinating joint training sessions between the Royal Navy and police divisions to ensure each unit could discuss and inform each unit what was going on.The collaboration with Portsmouth City Council was similarly vital. I collaborated with the city council to get essential information for the event. Through the integration of the council's resources and support, we successfully increased community engagement in the local area for the event.During the planning and execution stages, my primary objective was to guarantee effective and uniform communication among all departments. The success of the D-Day 80 event demonstrated the effectiveness of cooperation and the significance of careful preparation. It was a privilege to be part of a team that contributed to such a momentous historical event.
