Studied for MChem 1st class degree at Cardiff University, with research conducted under supervision of Dr Louis C Morrill, in the field of organocatalysis. Organic chemstry DPhil at Oxford University based in rhodium catalysis for novel hydroacylation and sulfur desymmetrisation, with Professor Michael Willis. Additional placements at Merck Chemicals Ltd., a 3-month internship in photochemistry at Novartis (Basel, Switzerland) and a summer placement in natural product total-synthesis with Professor Steve Davies, Oxford. Published works include a literature review, with Professor Veronique Gouveneur, on the developments and perspectives of C-H fluorination. Also a finalist of the 5th National SCI/RSC retrosynthesis competition.
