I worked as an English Teaching Assistant in a French lycée (High School) as part of the British Council Assistantship Programme. I worked with students aged 15-25 years old.I prepared activities and presentations on British culture and current global events to encourage discussion and participation in English. I would ask students to compare cultural aspects with the French-culture equivalent to help them think critically and appreciate customs unfamiliar to them.I prepared reading, writing and grammar exercises to improve the students’ written and oral comprehension in English. I also assisted students in improving their written and oral expression in English through conversation classes and mock interviews for their upcoming Baccalauréate (A-level equivalent) examination.

I worked remotely as a Mentor in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) under The Oxbridge Launchpad as a volunteer.I mentored a Year 12/13 student in French and Spanish in preparation for her upcoming A-level examinations and application to the University of Oxford to study BA French and Linguistics.I prepared grammar, oral comprehension, oral expression and linguistics exercises in French and Spanish personalised to the student’s weakest areas. I also assisted the student in preparation for certain stages of her Oxford University application process, including:Personal Statement - Phrasing, Conciseness and Written Expression.Modern Language Aptitude Test (MLAT) - A compulsory examination in advanced French grammar as part of the application process.Interview - Mock interviews, presentation at an interview and general advice before the student’s Oxford University interview.
