About Daniel Norman

A CIMA qualified accountant with close to 20 years of finance experience, I joined Centrica in October 2017 as the Finance Director for Customer Operations. Customer Operations delivers great customer service to 9 million UK customers across voice, web, email, web chat, and asynchronous messaging. We have operations in the UK, South Africa and India and a workforce of over 10,000 colleagues. I am currently now leading all digital, operational, process and systems transformation as well as strategic planning activities for Centrica Customer Operations. Previously I was the Finance Director for IAG Global Business Services. IAG GBS is a €500m pa business which is a wholly owned subsidiary of International Airlines Group (Parent company of BA, Iberia, Vueling, Aer Lingus and Avios) IAG GBS focussed on setting up world class back office services across IT, Procurement and Finance for International Airlines Group In this role I was responsible for the full financial support of the business including, statutory accounting, business planning, budgeting, financial and management reporting, as well as day to day running of the GBS Business. To date we have opened a captive shared service centre in Krakow (Poland), centralised Procurement and IT across the Group, implemented single Group systems across Finance (Hyperion, Murex), and delivered significant value via selected BPO and ITO outsourcing contracts.Prior to this role, I joined IAG at the time of the merger between British Airways and Iberia and lead the design of the financial reporting and business partnering for the IAG synergy programme. This programme of work delivered more than double its €400m target and involved most areas of the airline business from passenger, frequent flyer and cargo revenue, through to back office, maintenance, and procurement activities.Before joining IAG I worked for Credit Suisse and the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA) in Business Partnering and Management Accounting roles.I am passionate about my work and enjoy working collaboratively with business leaders to drive incremental value to organisations that I work in,I am a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) and have a BSc in E-Commerce & Digital Business from the University of Nottingham.I am always interested in hearing from former colleagues so please feel free to connect.
