I consulted on the environmental cleanup of the Concord Naval Weapons Station, tracking the progress by the Navy and attending community meetings.

Worked on project to redevelop land at former Oakland Army Base. Responsibilities included ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies, oversight of water treatment system design, and disposals.• Managed removal and manifested disposal of $15M+ of Class I and II soils. Details: At the inception of the project, the City of Oakland had accepted construction debris import of 34,000 cubic yards without the required testing or manifests. The contingent liability for the disposal of this material was $5,000,000. I designed a testing protocol for segregating the material into batches of Class I, Class II and reuse able. Working with DTSC I obtained approval for this program. Key to the cost savings was my obtaining DTSC approval for reusing the majority of the material for roadway base rock and general site fill above the vadose zone of the land. Total disposal costs were in the $250,000 range and savings of $1,500,000 of base rock that the contractor would have purchased without this reuse.• Managed design and approval of ground water treatment system used to treat and return over 110M gallons of water to San Francisco Bay. The cost of this system design, equipment rental and operation was $2M. Without this system, the disposal cost of the ground water would have exceeded $22M, saving the project $20M. • Saved $50M+ in redevelopment costs from original budget through managing project agencies and contractors as well as analyzing requirements. • A complete list of all activities I managed from August 2012 to January 2020 can be found on the ENVIROSTOR site at www.envirostor.dtsc.ca.gov/public/profile_report.asp?global_id=01970016

I renovated a historic 40,000 square foot box manufacturing building into true artist live/work and commercial condominium units.

I was responsible for the remediation of over 300 acres on 30 sites in Emeryville, Berkeley and Richmond preparing the land for the development of research laboratory and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, computer software development and computer animation facilities. I was the project manager for the construction and tenant improvements for many of these developments. I was principal member of the financing team for both construction and permanent financing for those facilities that were developed on environmentally impaired land. I was also served as the director of facilities for the 2,000,000 square feet of leased space.

I was the director of facilities for Cetus' Emeryville and Berkeley Facilities. During my tenure we developed 500,000 square feet of laboratory, manufacturing and administrative space. I was charged with ensuring that Cetus's production facilities met the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practice.
