I manage all aspects of multiple complex technical projects simultaneously, including nightworks, successfully achieving demanding margin targets by staying close to each project. I’ve built very strong relations with Sainsbury’s – I’m their key contact for all M&E projects - as well as working closely with Asda and M&S. Some of my notable achievements are:-on joining, turned around several failing projects, collaborating with suppliers and consultants to overhaul and establish robust systems which rebuilt stakeholder confidence--Supported and guided a PM to bring an important project back on track, increasing margins from single to double figures-Asked to manage a key account, developing strong relationships and credibility with this major supermarket chain through consistent hard work and dedication-Awarded additional responsibility for account managing Sainsbury’s M&E work streams-Built excellent relations with Argos; successfully completed 2 extremely fast-paced roll outs, achieving demanding targets under intense pressure-Completed 1st phase over 17 weeks in 134 stores as sub-contractor and 2nd phase over 4 weeks in 57 stores as main contractor, delivering very healthy profit margins-Completed Argos store roll out (106 stores, 11 weeks), enhancing revenues and optimising opportunities to increase margins and grow business-Project managing warehouse optimisation for 100+ stores, understanding complex scope and maximising efficiencies to significantly increase forecasted margins-Collaborating closely with Asda on full M&E scope to install Asian and Japanese street food counters, each generating higher than forecast margins-Creating and maximising relationships with new client M&S to develop business; managing several projects in London flagship and UK-wide stores-Initiating and developing new business with an industry leading retailer; quoting and winning 1st project, generating excellent revenue across construction and M&E

In this role I successfully delivered several complex, technical projects across the full M&E package on sites nationwide. I managed all mechanical & electrical installations for the newly acquired Co-op food stores premises. I led a team of 10 site-based electricians, plumbers & ventilation experts on jobs such as large properties with renewable technologies/home automation and modular buildings. I continued to develop relationships with clients and stakeholders, successfully generating and closing substantial amounts of new business opportunities via my network of client contacts built up during previous roles.

I worked closely with Nationwide Electrical on a major contract, providing M&E subcontract services. This involved managing a small team of electricians to replace existing sales floor lighting with energy efficient LED lighting, utilising existing circuits and I consistently achieved challenging completion targets of 3 – 5 stores per week.

Managing a small team of electricians, I drove successful completion of multiple projects around the country. During this time, I played a major part in the company securing MCS accreditation and achieving all business targets to break into the renewables market.I was recognised for generating significant levels of new business for the company, including solar PV and air source heat pumps. I also project managed complete re-wiring, mains upgrade and installation of all new LED lighting, as well as M&E installation for multiple modular buildings, such as schools. In addition, I also partnered with stakeholders on a complex, highly energy efficient property conversion.

In this role, I supervised day to day operations for the engineering team and managed projects from start to successful completion, handling everything from pricing and procuring materials to progress claims and surveying. I played a pivotal role in growing business and increasing sub-contractors and staff from 25 to 30. Working closely with the MD, we opened a sister company to handle the high volume of Green Deal & Energy Company Obligations and successfully achieved Green Deal Assessor certification.I was also instrumental in Solarex’s achievement of Green Deal Installer accreditations for energy efficient technologies, as well as MCS Solar PV accreditation for biomass installations, managing all aspects to facilitate these industry-leading endorsements. I monitored and regulated installations using NICEIC framework, including test certificates, MCS, safe contractor, CHAS, heat loss calculations, solar PV designs (Sol PV Software), EPCs & GDARs.My notable successes included negotiating and securing a £1m contract, partnering with Anesco for commercial Solar, working for major clients such as Bannatyne’s Health Clubs and Whitbread (Premier Inns); managing a £240k electrical project for 37 Penthouses/Apartments in Liverpool City Centre (L1), including design, pricing, installation of power, lighting, telecoms, TV distribution, fire detection and CCTV; overcoming multiple and complex M&E installation and building issues and working closely with the client on project specification revisions to bring the project in on time, on budget.

I began my working career as an apprentice electrician and served my time, before successfully becoming a fully qualified electrician. I also gained excellent experience working in other roles, such as sales representative and stores manager. Subsequently in 2006 I set up my own business as a self-employed electrical sub-contractor, very much a hands-on role working on sites around the country, sourcing, planning and prioritising work and delivering to tight budgets and deadlines. As well as building up a network of valuable connections during this period, I also gained NICEIC accreditation for full scope electrical installations & MCS for solar PV installations.
