As a Pharmacy Advisor (dispenser) I help run day to day operations of the pharmacy. These involve patient counselling, such as antibiotics and paediatric medication. Patient queries, leasing with other healthcare professionals, such as GPs, Dentists and the out of hours service during weekends. I am responsible to making sure prescriptions are legally valid before being dispensed. I am also part of a wider team in managing due prescriptions, alleviating workload for all team members, by making sure stock is as accurate as possible for customers who would like to drop into the pharmacy to pick up one off items. In addition, making sure repeat prescriptions are received in a timely manner to avoid a failure to supply medication to a patient.
