Over the past 5 ½ and years I have studied and completed a bachelor’s degree in Building and design management at Western Sydney University. Since being graduated, I have been fulltime employed by Cook Constructions, predominantly being involved in a commercial building environment. My time at Cook Constructions has seen me commence in a contracts administration role, progressed to estimating and tendering, and now currently a site supervisor and junior project manager. Briefly, whilst in university I sustained a full time position in a civil constructions roles with Pace Drilling. The civil constructions role as a driller assistant and QA representative taught me many practices over the years. Including the following: - Quick problem solving.- Ensuring crew follows HSEQ requirements. - Working in diverse work conditions.- Liaising and creating relationships with tier one clients. The past 1 ½ years with Cook Constructions has enhanced my knowledge and growth in the building and design industry. Over this period of time, I have been incorporated in residential building and construction, and largely involved in commercial building and design. During this time, I have personally gained the experience on the following:- Contracts administration related works, co-ordinating and arranging quotations and purchase orders with subcontractors, organising orders for materials and equipment, detailing and setting up required WHS documentation, and liaising meetings with clients.- Estimating and tendering, single handily working and submitting project quotes and tenders varying in value from $5,000 - $500,000, co-working and assisting on project quotes and tenders exceeding $1,000,000, liaising pre-tendering site visits with required trades, submitting project quotes and tenders to professional clientele.- Site supervision, being on site authority managing all required trades, materials and equipment, pre-coordinating all required site access necessities, on site working hours in various work types and extensively out of hours.- Junior project manager, solely working and supporting the commercial service department, creating and enhancing working relationships with various clientele, coordinating and delegating various staff and onsite workers, working and completing jobs and projects from tender phase, right through to project handover. I wish to continue to enhance my knowledge in the building and construction industry, and step into new projects that are out of my comfort zone so that I can continually learn and expand my profession.
