Integrated Logistics Support Manager

United States

Over the past three years, developed a logistics strategy for an IFPC prototype system that is now going into IOT&E in parallel with a new fielding contract for overseas deployment. The next Generation Platform will have modifications and will require a full suite of logistics studies and engineering analysis. At this time, I have moved into the ILS Manager's position and will be hiring my replacement as the Support Lead, in addition to 6 or 7 more team members to execute the new contract.

Senior Consultant

Log-E, Llc

I maintain an LLC named LOG-E (for Logistics Engineering). It has a basic charter that provides consulting on proposal work, peculiar to logistics solutions. I do quite a lot to exploit logistics processes and to make them more efficient so that I can bring the best solutions to the people I support. I don't see that changing, based on the fact that it is what I do for a living as well. However, I have decided to take the LOG-E Motis Operandi in a different direction. So I will be changing the marketing strategy for it.As I have become more involved in the study of Model-Based Product Support (MBPS), I have decided to put 90% of my effort toward developing this solution. I know that Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is effectively being employed in various industries, but I haven't been able to find the flip side of that coin anywhere; MBPS. Subsequently, no Conflict of Interest (COI) issues! So, I hope I am one of the first professionals to throw my hat in that ring. One day, I want LOG-E, LLC to be synonymous with MBPS.Original Charter:LOG-E, LLC is a consulting service for logistics engineering, design, and implementation. Efforts include front-end analysis for logistics engineering (i.e., failure mode effects and reliability predictions) as well as, predictive analysis for level of repair and spares recommendations. In addition, LOG-E recommends maintainability and supportability strategies and too, processes for technical documentation and S1000D development. LOG-E provides proposal support with regard to all of the front-end studies required in acquisition.

Sr Engineering, Integrated Logistics Manager

Massachusetts

Senior ILS Manager on a Program of Record for CECOM; Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T). Retooled the management processes for a team of project managers, in charge of Logistics tasks pursuant to LRIP. At the same time, due to the loss of one of my managers, I took on a Technical Project of my own (Tactical Networks, ATH). As a Resource Manager I had nine direct reports in various leadership roles. I provided focus on Project Planning, Staff Allocation Planning, and Scheduling to a Logistics Model. I established an EVMS Lite approach to reporting, based on Budget, Schedule, and Performance. As a Technical Lead on Tactical Networks, I had 12 reports in support of the ATH program. Some were Direct and some were Matrixed to the group. Products included RAM studies, LORA, Provisioning, and Technical Documentation. Toward this end, I brought the schedules for 8 separate projects up to date, created the staffing plan, and had engaged in managing the team on the ground floor. Integral in the design of a newly acquired EAGLE Database (Certified User). Calculated Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for proposals. At the same time, I was competing various requisitions for new hire opportunities, I maintained the quarterly performance reporting for my direct reports, and engaged in new business proposals for GDMS, nationwide.

Sep 2016 - Mar 2018

Integrated Logistics Support (Ils) Manager

Huntsville, Al

As the Logistics Manager for Aviation and Marine Systems, I began on the RFP, continued to the Initial Design Competition, and then went on to establish a logistic team; for the Shallow Water Combat Submersible (SWCS) Program under SOCOM. The logistics team performed Logistics Engineering, Analysis, and End User Documentation; with a team of 15 personnel. All products had been developed to support the initial fielding of the Acquisition Program (A full complement of logistics studies and documentation, had been completed under budget and within the schedule). In standing up the logistics team, I had documented all of the product development processes as work flows, detailed the process steps as they apply to their artifacts under analyses, and have created the means by which progress is monitored across all studies and documentation. As a result, an overarching architecture had been created to facilitate the Change Management Process. At the same time, I had produced the planning documentation required to enact the sustainment program and to perform maintenance to a supportability profile (i.e., the ILSP and the MSP).
