Project Engineer within the power division of on a large multi-discipline engineeringconsultancy working in the UK and abroad on a selection of international power andinfrastructure projects. These included combined cycle gas turbines, desalination and gasdistribution. Responsibilities - feasibility, plant modelling, design and design reviewthrough to construction.Selected projects:· Oqyana (part of The World development), Dubai - Preliminary and concept designincluding sizing, flow calculations, Design engineer for service island andinfrastructure including gas distribution network, 70MW power plant, fuel handlingand 7500m3/day reverse osmosis desalination plant.· Green Electric, Pakistan - Feasibility study, specification and tender evaluation for400MW CCGT power plant. Plant modelling and thermodynamic analysis withThermoflow software. Technical evaluations and plant performance comparisons.Client liaison and technical presentation to Panel of Experts in Pakistan.Analysis of meteorological data to determine ambient conditions and design point.Involvement with financial modelling.· Design Review - Ras Lafan C, Qatar - 2730MW CCGT + 63MIGD Multi effectdistillation.· Engro, Pakistan - 200MW CCGT power plant.· Emergency Power Project, Kuwait - 400MW OCGT. Initial performance modellingof GE6561 and P&W4FTC GTs fired on fuel oil and natural gas.· Songas, Tanzania - Technical consultant on gas supply, filtration problems to gasturbines, including flow calculations, analysis of pipework erosion problems andassisting of redesign of filters mountings on filter skids.· BOC Thame - QS of additional work from contractors on high pressure stainless steelpipe work and electrical works.· Water Treatment - New Taweelah B IWPP 1000MW 60 MGD water - Review ofalternate technical options and suppliers for chlorine dioxide generation for watertreatment from desalination plant.
