Data scientist and automation engineer at the Knight Cancer Institute. As part of the Precision Oncology group, I am part of an interdisciplinary team of cancer researchers that takes on a wide range of projects including automated report generation for departmental review, analysis of multi-modal biomedical data sets, creation of scalable pipelines for automated data ingestion/registration/tracking, as well as machine learning for therapeutic recommendations and key feature extraction.Heavy user of Python, including many common libraries: pandas, pydantic, pytest, sklearn, and several of the builtins. In university, I was employed by the Computer Science department to help instruct supplementary live-coding labs for undergrad students learning C/C++ and Java. Provided demonstrations and explanations for topics related to programming basics, data structures, algorithms, recursion, OOP, and operating systems. Additional experience as product owner and primary point of contact for my university capstone project, PDX Connect, a social media website aimed at Portland State University students and sponsored by a professor and group of students from the Sociology Department. Implemented the front-end and back-end for a personal messaging interface using TypeScript, React, node, and TypeORM for postrgres. As product owner, I was also responsible for soliciting lists of actionable functional-requirements for each sprint, and used them to populate the backlog of Jira tickets for our scrum team. Outside of work, my interests include playing guitar, PC gaming, listening to music (especially hip-hop), tabletop role-playing/D&D, and catching movies at the theater.
