Recruit, identify, compile, and maintain a list of individuals interested in training or work in construction jobs for contractors. Priority for recruiting will be: women; people of color; and those from specific economically-distressed areas neighborhoods in King County also known as priority hire.Manage multiple contracts with community-based organizations that will assist in the recruitment processes.Establish and maintain working relationships with unions, pre-apprenticeship programs, apprenticeship programs, social service agencies, and contractors to support the hiring, retention, and training of underrepresented workers on King County construction projects. Identify the needs and opportunities for program improvements that can increase: the success of participants in pre-apprenticeship programs; the number of pre-apprenticeship graduates entering apprenticeships and; the number of prioritized individuals that graduate from apprentice into journey-level work. Provide technical assistance to community organizations conducting outreach to ensure compliance with the County’s Priority Hire (Targeted Local Hire) policies and procedures.Collaborate with the Business Development and Contract Compliance Team, county departments and divisions, county project management staff, and an oversight committee and County Leadership to provide input on procedures, forms and policies, and to share and exchange information.
