Active, driven and passionate about making a difference in my community! I'm a steadfast believer that public service matters. My career in the public sector allows me to utilize my field of study – Masters in Public Policy, as well as my knowledge of performance measures, contract compliance and my passion for advancing inclusion opportunities in public contracting and working with the community. With over 10 years’ experience working in the public sector for Hennepin County, King County, and the City of Minneapolis in a wide range of roles from Civil Construction to Business Development and Contract Compliance, I know my qualifications, diverse skill set, and passion make a positive impact to the community I live in.Everyone has always told me that my passion for helping the community I live in will get me places, and that it has. I’m passionate about advancing equity through contracting opportunities, which provides family wage jobs and career opportunities to diverse communities who are typically disadvantaged. The roles that I have had which focus on Equity and Social Justice at King County and the my current employer, the City of Minneapolis, have been exciting. They have taught me a lot about the complex nature of contract compliance, advancing diversity through the use of certified firms, and working with community based organizations in order to address equity issues in public contracting. In my current role with the City of Minneapolis, I administer The City's Small and Underutilized Business Program, enforce prevailing wage and Davis-Bacon laws, oversee contract compliance for all capitol construction projects that have labor, small business, MBE / WBE / DBE requirements, and EEO provisions.
