Daniel Phelps is an integrated media artist and Creative Technologist living in Atlanta, Georgia. His work consists of various forms of non-fiction media specializing in emerging technology for digital storytelling. Growing up in California, Daniel worked as a videographer, editor, and chief of production for various magazine shows and production companies across the U.S. coast. His linear work has been seen on NBC Sports, The Tennis Channel, ABC, and networks nationwide. Most recently, his feature-length documentary, The Domino Effect, advocates for fair housing and informed urban planning in New York City. As a community education and organizing tool, The Domino Effect has been selected by numerous film festivals and screens worldwide by communities affected by gentrification and urban land-use politics.Daniel holds a B.A. in Mass Media Communication from The California State University Sacramento, an M.F.A. in Integrated Media Arts from Hunter College, and an M.S. in Digital Media from The Georgia Institute of Technology. Finishing his fifth year of Ph.D. study at The Georgia Institute of Technology, his integrated media work has been seen in galleries, 3D film festivals, the USPTO, and multimedia installation facilities around the U.S.Forever dedicated to the narrative, Daniel's work in media and design has grown to incorporate robotics, UX/UI, Media Architecture, Massive Projections of media, Forced perspective, Anamorphosis, and physical computing. Working from his Atlanta Digital Design Studio, Daniel strives for innovative ways to blend design philosophies to create connection, wonder, and curiosity beyond novelty.
