My background and experiences are very diverse. When graduating from college my vision of what the next 30 years would be like are very different from what really took place. I started my teaching career in a small one-room school in Billings, Montana. I quickly learned the patience necessary to work with students at every elementary level. Little did I know that years later, that experience in actually teaching the young elementary level would serve me well as an elementary level principal.After 5 years, my journey continued to Rapid City, South Dakota where I again served as principal and taught grades 5 - 8 as well. During my time there, I had the pleasure of addressing the South Dakota state school board on accreditation matters pertaining to principals and master's degrees. In 1996, I earned my Master's degree from South Dakota State University. In 1997, I became principal of Trinity Lutheran School in Neenah, Wisconsin. This allowed me to put my newly attained knowledge to work.Three short years later, I came to Emanual/Crown of Life Lutheran School in West St. Paul, Minnesota. While at Crown of Life I gained a great deal of knowledge in school planning, project management, accreditation, school marketing, and school/church branding. Two congregations came together to form Crown of Life. I was heavily involved in the day to day decision making process as we expanded our school and build a church on the campus in 2004. I was again heavily involved in the amalgamation of two congregations in 2013. With that amalgamation came an additional campus. With all these changes to Crown of Life, a branding and marketing process and project had to be done. I also have had the pleasure of leading our school through two accreditation processes. Both ending in the affirming of our accreditation status.In 2009, I became a paid on call firefighter for the Eagan Fire Department. I have had opportunity for many crew chief roles while on calls and emergencies. I learned how to react in very stressful times.In 202
