Throughout my academic career, I have gained valuable knowledge in numerous fields, including bioinformatics, evolution and microbiology. My hope is to apply and further this knowledge through future work in order to make a greater impact on the world in which we live. My undergraduate degree focused on Biochemistry, in which I received honours with distinction. I followed this degree with a Masters in microbiology, where I studied pathogenicity factors in Vibrio cholerae. Recently I completed my PhD in the field of evolutionary bioinformatics, where I learned a variety of skills from metagenomic work to phylogeny.I wish to work in ground breaking science in either an academic or research center. I wish to stay in the field of Biology, however I enjoy new fields of study and would be satisfied with any interesting research project.
