Growing up, I loved to read all the different types of books with fun illustrations and especially the ones with pure vectors. In fact, I still enjoy reading books with big illustrations; along with a cup of hot chocolate of course. My favorites would include the Disney collection books, Dr. Suess, and Scholastic published books, but my favorites to read are the Bible illustrations in kids Bibles. Being able to see all those illustrations bring the story to life and the amount of creativity and thought put in every detail of the illustration fascinates me.Although I enjoy other categories of design, such as logo design and advertising, I want to work harder on my vectors and illustrations to pursue a career in book design, especially book covers because of much room for creative liberty; it’s an endless canvas. I like to start my vectors and illustrations first by sketching them out on paper. I then scan my sketch and start filling it with small shapes, and finally, I put those shapes together to form a bigger shape until I get my final result. Shapes help form the illustrations I want and I like to think that God works the same way. Each little thing, He has designed with His hands. Each is different and unique in its own way. I am looking forward to glorifying God and hope to be an influence to others through my work and artistic abilities.
