I am an experienced engineer at Arup and RAEng Visiting Professor in Structural Dynamics and Offshore Engineering at the University of Oxford. My experiences in consultancy have allowed me to complete and lead a broad range of innovative and technically challenging international projects. These include:- Akita Port Offshore Wind farm – Technical lead for the support structures of Japan’s first commercial-scale, offshore wind-farm (140 MW);- The Scalpel – Technical lead for an integrated viscous damping system on a 200m, commercial tower in central London to reduce wind loads and enable a reduction in steel weight of 2500 te; - US Air Force Memorial – Technical lead for a large impact-dampers to suppress wind instabilities on a slender, 80m steel monument in Arlington, USA;- Maari Wellhead platform – Technical lead for a 140m self-installing jacket structure designed to resist high seismic loads and 20m waves in 100m water depth off New Zealand.
