Key Responsibilities:• Report to the Managing Director.• Installation, setup, maintenance and administration of the company network (both hardware and software) in the UK and Irish office. Windows 10 and 7 desktop and laptop machines based on Windows Server 2012 and Exchange 2013 (Exchange Online for branch office).• Upgrade, maintain and provide ongoing customer support for bespoke SCADA monitoring systems based on Wonderware InTouch 9.5 – 10.1, off-the-shelf temperature, humidity and pressure sensors combined with specialist Modbus RTU and TCP hardware.• Provide customer telephone / on-site support for computer based products offered by the company.• Maintain the Avaya IP Office telephone system, including hardware and wiring.• Write software in VB.NET to replace legacy utilities no longer compatible with current operating systems or to overcome other engineering challenges.

• Report to the Northamptonshire PCT or Group Team Leader.• Install, set up and support Windows XP desktop and laptop machines across numerous hospitals and GP practises throughout Northamptonshire (utilising Windows NT 4/2000 and 2003 Server, Novell Netware and Exchange Server 5.5 / 2003).• Re-image and upgrade computers on site, configure and install printers, Blackberry phones (administering Blackberry Enterprise Server), 3G cards, VPN tokens and other hardware.• Installed and configured new Windows 2008 server running Remote Desktop Services (utilising VMWare ESXi / Hypervisor 4.1 / 5.0) to allow GPs to access systems remotely.• Assist the PCT purchasing department in identifying hardware to purchase for other IT teams within the organisation. • Provide ongoing user support and resolve incidents from the service desk.

Key Responsibilities:• Report to the Quality Manager.• Install, set up, administer and support the company network (both hardware and software). 30 – 45 Windows XP desktop and laptop machines based on Windows 2003 Server, Exchange Server 2003 and Windows 2000 Server.• Plan, design and implement systems, including acceptance testing, researching, facilitation, customising, client training, and go-live support. Build and upgrade computers on site.• Provide ongoing user support. Resolve reported problems across all platforms, including development of procedures to ensure problems do not recur. • Maintain the Panasonic telephone system, including hardware and wiring.• Liase/communicate closely with internal clients and other parties.• Administrator for automated test equipment: Design hardware interfaces and write software to test products in PowerStar 4 & 5 (Intepro ATE). Provide solutions from start to finish.• Design and write data logging software to monitor products during soak testing.Achievements:• Designed and implemented a new Windows 2003 network infrastructure to replace an existing NT 4 network.• Built a new Windows 2000 Terminal Services Server for use by remote clients.• Configured the network to utilise an ADSL broadband connection and installed VPN link for remote access using a WatchGuard firewall.• On company expansion and relocation in 1998, implemented change from Novell Network to a Windows NT4 server environment.
