I developed and implemented the Council's Corporate Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Strategy which aimed to help manage a significant increase in referrals under the current legislation and plan for reform of DoLS. I was responsible for the management and co-ordination of; data analysis, resource allocation and impact on budget monitoring, workforce development, performance and benchmarking, communications and relationship management with key partners, multi-agency working with health, demand management and prevention.Key achievements include:• Establishing a strategic partner model with a new contract for provision of DoLS services and assessments to support in house provision. This improved management of quality of assessments and increased value for money• Facilitated improved in house assessment productivity • Enabled the trial and successful embedding of new ways of working to reduce bureaucracy within the process and better utilise the skills base of in house Best Interest Assessors (BIA)• Oversaw continuous improvements to process, IT and systems• Reduced projected budget pressure brought about by increased demand for DoLS by £1.5 million through efficiency measures and improved demand modelling• Delivered a new DoLS Policy and Strategy to signpost further strategic development of the service to 2021.
