Hi! My name is Daniel and I'm a recent grad of UCLA with a degree in International Development Studies. To me, the world is so much more than just passing faces and lived experiences. Every conversation is a chance to make someone’s day. I’ve utilized my time working and studying to prove to myself and others that this is true, and I’ve had quite a bit of success.Every new job has been an uphill battle at the start, but nothing feels more rewarding than learning and growing as part of a team. It may seem from my past— from cashier to canvasser to student government staff and customer relations for essential services— that my careers appear to be misaligned. However, at the center of everything I do is people. Back home in Stockton, CA, I entered the workforce right as the COVID-19 pandemic was starting to pick up. In order to meet the emotional needs of the people around me, I spent my time connecting with my community through rich, daily conversations that brightened smiles or made smart decision-making more accessible for the average person. While studying at UCLA, I leveraged my extensive interpersonal knowledge to advocate for my peers and keep providing essential functions that make people’s lives easier. Now that I'm in the workforce, I'm taking full advantage of my lived and learned experiences to brighten my little corner of Sacramento.Of course, I can write all I want about how much I have been focused on interpersonal connections with my community. But these traits have shown themselves with my coworkers and superiors as well. Aside from my attention to detail, I’m also known amongst my peers as someone who’s genuinely comforting to be around. Whether it’s cracking a joke or providing constructive, compassionate assistance to employees that are just starting out, my attentive care has lightened worries (and the mood) everywhere I’ve gone. What’s next for me? I’m looking to join a diverse team of compassionate thinkers who are determined to leave the world a better place than we’ve found it. I’ve been spending my entire working life making days seem brighter and smiles wider, and cannot wait to keep doing just that. If you want to connect, feel free to send me a message!
