About Daniel Rider

I am the Water Sensitive Urban Design Specialist at Ocean Protect and I am working on building capacity within the stormwater industry to use and benefit from WSUD.I have amassed diverse experience in the areas of urban water management and the protection of aquatic environments. Driven by a passion for ocean conservation, I have studied and mapped the distribution of microplastics in Australian estuarine and marine environments; undertaken reef research in Fiji and Thailand; undertaken river health studies in New Zealand, and implemented camera trap monitoring of endangered species and took on community education in Thailand. In this time, I have worked with a diverse range of organisations including AUSMAP, Global Vision International and Blacktown City Council.I hold a Bachelor degree in Environmental Earth Sciences and Environmental Management, accreditation in microplastic assessment and I am a qualified coral reef research diver. Further, I am the Co-founder and Operations Manager of Earthly Institute and a Board member of Build for Bees.
