The overall mission and long-term goal of the CFCCC’s Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) component is to reduce cancer-related burdens in the Catchment Area through cancer monitoring, community outreach and education, strategic partnerships and coalitions, advocacy, and facilitation of research that promotes cancer health equity for all. This mission involves translating and disseminating the Center’s research into practice and policy, as well as communicating concerns and attitudes of the community to Center members to inform new research initiatives. COE also builds on well-known best practices to improve cancer prevention, early detection, and access to quality cancer care.There are three pillars to our mission:Cancer Health Equity: Assess the cancer burden and disparities in communities, with an emphasis on reducing cancer incidence and mortality among diverse populations in Orange County and beyond;Partnerships that Respect Community Autonomy: Partner with communities to advance evidence-based cancer prevention and control practices that reduce these disparities in diverse populations;Policy and Systems Change: Promote policy development, implementation and evaluation to decrease cancer incidence and mortality, and that leverage and extend the impact of the UCI CFCCC to wider populations across the state and country.

In this role, I take charge of community health programs with the aim of improving and integrating various aspects of health (social, behavioral, conventional medical, etc.). I am in charge of Health Reimagined's strategic strategy, teamwork, execution, and reporting. I cultivate partnerships with internal stakeholders and external community organizations that can pool resources and respond to pressing needs. I also hold meetings with important stakeholders and community leaders, and have them help you write up a report so you can implement strategies and hold key members accountable for their efforts. I manage community-based initiatives and collaborative efforts to discover game-changing approaches to healthcare and spread the word. In order to disseminate the lessons learned and positive experiences gained from community health pilots, it is necessary to create and deliver presentations, reports, and profiles. I make sure the projects are completely free of health inequalities. Key achievements include:• Helped shape the community health strategy when it was being developed.• Executed a two-million-dollar community-integrated solution for COVID testing and vaccinations in multiple counties in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including CBOs, other health programs, and government agencies.

I developed performance monitoring activities, monthly and quarterly reports, and rules and processes to ensure grant-funded community organizations followed state and federal guidelines. I made sure that all contracts with community organizations were executed in collaboration with the Contracts Units of the Legal and Business Services Branch. In line with the department's purpose, vision, and objectives, I have developed section program strategy plans complete with benchmarks and KPIs to better engage, educate, enroll, and retain Covered California customers. I went all over the state for meetings and to build connections with community groups who are involved in the program and who have a stake in its success. I managed a team that checked on local nonprofits to make sure they were following the rules. Managed a contracting process for community organizations to provide technical help. Community groups were given the resources they needed to meet Covered California and federal regulations. Some key achievements include,• Analyzed how examination of new rules, laws, and program standards might impact existing ones. • Over $25 million in grants were dispersed to numerous groups across the state thanks to my careful management.

Southern California

I supervised the field team's daily functions to assure the quality and effectiveness of program delivery. My other responsibilities included developing, training, and overseeing Field staff. I participated in the formulation and execution of the program's objectives and strategies. I also coordinated a fully-developed Staff Services function such as personnel, fiscal, or management analysis. Lastly, I monitored professional or technical analysts up to the level of Associate Analysts accountable for a significant sub-function of a Staff Services function. Key accomplishments include:• Increased the number of enrollment partners with CBOs and brokers and achieved double-digit member growth year over year.

As the Manager of Navigator Grants and Community Outreach and Education programs for the Southern California Region, I oversaw the daily operations of the field grant team and ensured the delivery of high-quality programs. My role involved supervising the team and ensuring the effectiveness of the programs. As a skilled community outreach and engagement professional, I successfully supervised the development and implementation of strategies aimed at reaching over one million uninsured and underinsured Californians in the first year of the state's health insurance market. Through effective collaboration with the leadership of Covered California, I was able to engage and educate community-based stakeholders, resulting in increased access to healthcare for many Californians. Successfully led and managed the Field grant staff through development, training, and monitoring. Some key achievements include:• Navigator Grants | 2014-2015: I helped develop and implement the $16M Navigator Grants initiative. • Outreach and Education Grant program in 2013–2014: I participated in the preparation and implementation of the $43M.• I had prior work history as a "Field Monitor"

I currently coordinate HIV and STI screening, counseling, care and treatment programs.

In this role, I created plans for engaging locals in order to fulfill the terms of the contract. I coordinated with others to build outreach plans and ensure community involvement. Clients who tested positive for HIV were offered counseling services. I even facilitated the enroI ensured that all data was collected and reported accurately. I contributed significantly to the program's success in attaining its contractual goals and objectives, such as the percentage of eligible participants who receive HIV/STI testing, the percentage of those tested who test positive, and the percentage of those referred and linked to medical care. Clients who tested positive for HIV were offered counseling and referrals for their relationships. Facilitated and attended meetings with community partners, evaluated the need for community partners, and sought out new possible partners. • Formed, kept, and expanded partnerships with various community groups offering aid to those afflicted with HIV/AIDS.
