I work one day a month at Saban Community clinic to keep my hands in community dentistry. Thanks to Dr. Van Ahn Dastur leadership and support, I am able to stay in touch with FQHC policies, providers, and patients. This is important as it helps me to provide updated information for my dental students who are interested in Community Dentistry as a career. At the same time it has allowed to be a liaison between the Ostrow School of Dentistry and Saban, especially with referrals for specialty care (e.g., Endo).

I clinically supervise 3rd and 4th year dental students in the Community Oral Health Programs, including the Mobile Dental Clinic, Special Patient Clinic and Queenscare Mobile Program. As a former FQHC dental director, I have consulted with FQHC leadership and a mentor to dental students interested in community and public health dentistry.

As director of dental services, I am responsible to coordinating 3 Eisner dental clinic sites in Downtown LA(main), Lynwood and Sherman Oaks, CA. Through these clinic sites, I oversee additional programming that includes a school-based portable dental program that provides basic and preventive services at 3 elementary and 1 middle LAUSD schools; an oral health integration program at a local WIC office and in our pediatric medical departments which provide dental screenings, anticipatory guidance, oral hygiene instruction and application of fluoride varnish in children 0-5 years of age; an OB, pregnant woman dental program in our Women's Health Center, a geriatric community outreach program at St. Barnabas Senior Center and community outreach programs (health fairs). In addition, I oversee specialty care programming in the Downtown LA office. The specialty services offered are pediatric dentistry for 0-5 year old children who are unable to be treated by a general dentist, periodontal services for adult Type II diabetics and orthodontic services, including a cleft lip/cleft palate, craniofacial program.
