Work at IOM involved a proof of concept study into enzyme immobilisation on polymer membranes by electron beam irradiation. The immobilised enzyme facilitates depolymerisation of a biopolymer solved in a deep eutectic solvent. Studies included kinetic measurements of the enzyme activity in solution and of the immobilised enzyme. Research was conducted with the Zahn and Schulze groups
