I was born and raised in Muskoka and then have raised my own family here. Being from the area I am familiarwith many of the lakes and understand our seasonal guest’s expectations for their cottage lifestyle whileenjoying their stay in Muskoka.I have been doing carpentry for thirty years. This past fall I found myself unemployed with little buildinghappening in the area, others also found themselves in my situation. This was when I discovered my resumehad "too many experience years" and I was told to not let a perspective employer see that many yearsexperience because they would feel I am too old, please continue reading and give thought to a man withexperience.I learned my trade the old fashioned way: hard work. I was up with the birds and worked in all kinds of weather,I was taught from the ground up. I began as a laborer and with determination and drive soon began theprocess of understanding and honing the art and skill of carpentry. I consider my skill a craft.I have worked around the lakes many years and have received many thanks and a hearty hand shake for ajob well done.I have solid knowledge of reading blueprints.I have worked closely with draftsman, architects, landscape architects, and interior designers’. I am familiarwith transactions for business with other contractors, building companies, and sub-trades.I am a self-starter, have logistics and am capable of problem solving a situation. I work well with others, butam perfectly capable of working unsupervised completing a project from conception to completion.
