Manage aviation, bulk and retail fuel operations at Bagram Airfield and 17 other fuel sites in Afghanistan operating fixed above and underground steel tanks and tactical 210k fabric tanks storing 26M gallons with a monthly issue/receipt of 45M gallons. Fuel received and issued is by the use of bulk fuel trucks and pipeline operations. Sub departments include:Three Army Petroleum Center (APC) certified B2 fuel labs testing aviation gasoline (Avgas), Jet-A(1), JP-8 and Russian TS-1 which is injected on site with the required additives for use in US military aircraft with Fuel System Icing Inhibitor (FSII), Static Dissipating Additive (SDA) and Corrosion Inhibitor (CI) along with diesel and gasoline.Provide airfield refueling operations to fixed and rotary aircraft at three main airfields in theater issuing fuel from aviation fuel trucks and fixed refueling points to commercial and military aircraft. Additional fuel is supplied to Army, Air Force and NATO aviation units. Aircraft defueling and wet Wing operations are also performed. Bulk and retail fleet consisting of over 75 fuel trucks. Load and offload over 3,000 bulk fuel trucks a month for supporting main hub sites and out laying bases.Fuel accounting for the Defense Logistics Agency - Energy (DLA-E) using the Fuels Manager-Defense program and for Army owned fuel using the Tactical-FMD program. Work with the Army Joint Logistics Command for daily operational requirements and future planning. Submit proposals for new work or modifications to current operations through contracting to the government for acceptance. Provide emergency fuel recovery from aircraft that have had to make emergency landings. Recovering fuel from overturned local fuel trucks contracted by the Army.Manage over 750 personnel. Provide training that includes hazard awareness, safety, company, military and commercial regulations and standards for fuel operations. Oversee the internal administration and operations departments.
