As result, changed customer ordering system and implemented a Kanban / Supermarket system. Eliminated 500K pounds from Finished Goods Inventory while adding 250K pounds of WIP and Raw Inventory to cover for potential problem areas. Overall inventories were reduced from 2.4M pounds to 1.8M pounds on comparable shipments by employing Lean concepts.• TPM: Managed FWT’s initiation and progression through Total Productive Maintenance. Capital investment of $150K was paid for in 1 year.• Significantly reduced overall inventory (3.8M pounds to 2.4M pounds) while maintaining the same annual shipment level by analyzing inventory carrying costs and scrap costs and deciding accordingly.
