Starting as a CBP Officer in 2003 at the Detroit Ambassador Bridge, I have over 16 years experience with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations. I am a proven transformational leader with key insights into passenger processing, traveler behavior, and CBP inspectional processes. I led the early expansion of Global Entry from the first five locations to 20 locations and launched Mobile Passport Control in 2014 in partnership with the private sector partners. I managed an annual budget of over $120million and was a driving force behind the Office of Field Operations biometric entry/exit transformation efforts and requirements development for the Traveler Verification Service (TVS) used by airports and airlines across the country. I championed the adoption of mobile technology for CBP Officers, US Border Patrol Agents, and Air and Marine Agents resulting in enhanced enforcement and worked collaboratively with airlines and airports to implement a new CBP airport facility design guide, traveler satisfaction surveys, and the model ports initiative. I am an accomplished public speaker and am passionate about talking about the benefits of public-private partnerships that use biometric technology to transform the CBP international arrival processes, enhance the CBP mission, implement biometric exit, and simplify the entire l travel process (from curb to gate) for travelers in a way that recognizes and protects privacy.
