Student on placement embedded in Clinical team at the Black Dog Institute in Randwick.Worked with a number of clients presenting with treatment resistant depression and comorbidities including agoraphobia, OCD, Bipolar disorder, and personality disorders (NPD, OCPD). Intake specialist role (for "The Essential Network" - TEN and "National Emergency Worker Support Services" NEWSS) evaluating treatment suitability for clinic. Managed gradually expanding caseload to ~4 clients per day. Completed SCID diagnostic interviews for group program + attended group supervision sessions (including presentations on Schema Modality and from the UNSW Trauma Stress Clinic).

Worked as a Provisional Psychologist as part of an interdisciplinary team (Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists) to provide Psychological care for young children, adolescents, and their families.Developed proficiency working with cases of Depression, OCD, Specific Phobia, and Selective Mutism. Co-ran the "Lawson Readiness Program" of 4 hr sessions over 5 weeks to prepare adolescents for in-patient stays at hospital (involving Psychoeducation, teaching techniques to manage anxiety and depression). Collaborated in team meetings to review and manage complex cases of mental health disorders, and co-facilitated comprehensive assessments which involved whole-family and separate sessions.Also completed 2 Neuropsychological testing cases for Selective Learning Disorder and ADHD, respectively.

This was my first placement as a Provisional (trainee) Psychologist. The site provided training in intakes, risk assessment and management, and providing evidence-supported Psychological therapies to adult and child clients. The placement also included Neuropsychological assessments for Specific Learning Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. All client-facing work was recorded, allowing for close supervision and focused professional development. The placement also offered extensive professional supervision, including weekly 1-hour sessions for child and adult cases, as well as optional 2 hour supervision for Psychometric assessment cases.Over the course of this placement I developed familiarity with treatment of Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, childhood Autism Spectrum Disorder, Specific Phobias (Emetophobia), and Tic Disorder. I also developed a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, as well as basic familiarity with therapeutic modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family Therapy approaches, Mindfulness approaches, and selected techniques from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.

Worked in out-of-home care placements as a Youth worker, providing care as part of a 24/7 service to children under the care of the minister. Collaborated as part of a team to facilitate daily living for children across educational and recreational activities.Developed strong interpersonal skills with young children, adopting a trauma-informed care approach to supporting the emotional and developmental well-being of clients.
