I’m a Senior Assistant Director in the Catchment and Waterways Department of Public Utilities Board (PUB), Singapore’s National Water Agency. I am relied on to develop drainage policies, work closely with agency and industry professionals, as well as manage a team of engineers who process drainage development plans and earth control measure designs. Before my current stint, I was at the Coastal Protection Department where I set up the framework to manage the $5 billion Coastal and Flood Protection Fund and lay the groundwork for ensuring continued protection of Singapore’s coastline. I was also involved with potable water treatment for 8 years, first as a Process and Operations Engineer at Woodleigh Waterworks and contract administrator of the 20-year Ulu Pandan NEWater Design-Build-Own-Operate (DBOO) Project, before taking on the role of Plant Manager at Chestnut Avenue Waterworks (CAWW), a plant utilising both membrane and conventional filtration technology to production up to 120 million gallons of potable water per day, and finally moving on to training where I curated and ran in-house water treatment courses for engineers and technical officers.I enjoy working with people, especially as a team to overcome challenges and striving towards a common objective. I am a firm believer of life-long learning, be it from courses, life lessons of the highly-experienced or savviness of youth. If you’re a former colleague, schoolmate or a fellow chemical engineer, feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect!
