CurrentResponsible for corresponding and communicating directly with attorneys, insureds, claimants and third parties in conducting a diligent investigation of complex, nationwide and high exposure bodily injury claims filed against commercial liability insurance policies. Investigate and determine coverage, liability and damages. Investigate, evaluate and settle garage keeper clams. Evaluate demand packages including calculating general damages and economic damages to quickly negotiate and reach equitable settlements of complex and high exposure bodily injury claims up to $1,000,000 combined single limit. Responsible for handling and concluding all claims investigations from inception to closure with no supervision and with the authority to pay or deny claims. Settlement authority up to $50,000. Investigate all claims in compliance with company policy, the deadlines and regulations set forth in the California Fair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations and the Insurance Code. Experience with nationwide statutes, case law and legal precedent. Responsible for communicating, monitoring and corresponding with defense counsel, to quickly and expeditiously resolve litigated files in house saving the company thousands of dollars in unnecessary litigation costs and expenses. Review and respond to allegations of bad faith, wrongdoing and improper claims handling. During my first few months of employment, I quickly took over the investigation and handling of 100+ claims files which had not been worked on for several months, communicated and corresponded with all parties and gathered all documentation necessary to evaluate, negotiate and settle the claims.
