Contracted for a short part-time internship through the Dr. Mark Chignell at the University of Toronto, my responsibilities were to analyse data collected to investigate user experience across varying degrees of video quality. The end goal of the project was to characterize how user-engagement varied with video quality. Anaylses conducted included clustering through k-means, analysis of variance, and t-tests.
User Centered Design Engineer
Design of clinical software application (SunnyCARE) that enables electronic entry of patient consultnotes of emergency department staff. The internship, under supervision of Dr. Ed Etchells, involvedethnographic observations of the emergency department, development of user interface test bedbased on UCD principles and heuristics, and iterative design based on think-aloud testing andcognitive walk-throughs with real end-users (resident physicians). The internship resulted in thesuccessful design of the medications ordering component of SunnyCARE.
