The Disaster Spiritual Care (DSC) Regional Program Lead is responsible for leading and building a team of disaster spiritual care chapter coordinators, for collaborating with other regional disaster leadership, for assisting the region in developing partnerships at regional and state levels, and for assisting the region through consultation, guidance and recruitment during regional operations.Responsibilities* To provide Disaster Spiritual Care services to clients and community* To develop Disaster Spiritual Care capacity in region through training, mentoring and recruitment* To lead and manage team of Disaster Spiritual Care chapter coordinators* To collaborate with other disaster functions before, during and after responses* To support regional preparedness efforts* To assist the region in developing partnerships with local and regional faith-based organizations* To facilitate long-term recovery in region by providing spiritual and emotional support, and connection to regional resources* To support other disaster responders before, during and after disaster response* Serve as the primary regional representative (or assign designee) on Division Disaster Readiness Workgroups

I work with both home care and hospice care. I meet with patients and family to discuss there options when they are eligible for either home care or Hospice care. I am an advocate for them. I provide education about what is next and the process. I start the process of home care or Hospice if eligible and everyone agrees. I then check up on the patient and make sure they have everything. I also provide companionship as well. I grow relationships with the patient and family, that way we can do what is best for the patient. Like I said, we are the advocates for them and try very hard to get what they need to help the patient in anyway I can.
