I am the Process Engineer for the pulp and paper machines at the Prince George Mill. My primary focus is currently on developing and executing capital projects for both machines. I build project justifications, implementation plans, cost estimates, and financial forecasts. I also work closely with engineering consultants to develop project scopes and engineering deliverables. I often act as a project manager once a project is approved. I am involved in procurement, ensuring detailed engineering deliverables are received, work scheduling, selecting contractors for installation, cost tracking and budget management, scope change management, and risk mitigation. I take an active lead during installation looking after contractors and mill personnel to ensure work is done safely. I am also involved in safe commissioning of new equipment and ensuring operations receive proper training on the safe and successful operation of new equipment.My other responsibilities include:- Troubleshooting process issues- Identifying and implementing actions to improve the efficiency of unit operations- Working with chemical suppliers to optimize usage, lower costs, and continually improve pulp and paper properties- Driving product development and process improvement through chemical trials- Managing chemical inventory and tracking chemical costs- Addressing pulp and/or paper quality concerns- Dealing with ISO or environmental concerns that come up- Managing major maintenance projects for the machine room- Machine room relief shift supervisor

Shift supervisor for the paper machine, pulp machine, and warehouse. This involved looking after the safety and wellbeing of over 20 men and women across 2 different unions while ensuring production targets were met and process/equipment issues were identified and troubleshot.

Assisted Dr. Lionel Catalan and Dr. Stephen Kinrade of Lakehead University in the development of a green chemical admixture for enhancing the strength of cement and concrete.

I developed a CADSIM model of the entire pulp and paper mill. The model was used to identify and evaluate energy reduction, water reduction, and fiber loss reduction projects.
