The Independent Adviser for Vanguard Investors is a monthly newsletter that keeps abreast of recent developments at Vanguard and publishes the annual FFSA Independent Guide to the Vanguard Funds. We help Vanguard investors choose wisely among more than 100 Vanguard mutual funds. The newsletter is separate from Adviser Investments, LLC and is published by an unaffiliated media company.

Served on the board of the Bed-Stuy Y and was deeply involved in the capital campaign to build the new Y facility. Also spent a good deal of time with the Y Teens which might well have been a better education for me than it was for them.

Covered Wall Street, business and then was mutual funds editor. Created fund family ranking system. Worked with a terrific team of people including Avery Comarow and Peter Bernstein.

Researched and wrote business stories. First reporter assigned to cover the then-nascent software industry. Created the "Companies To Watch" column and wrote it for the first year and a half.

Energy and environmental research. Produced a study of German strip mining and land reclamation under a grant from the German Marshall Fund. Researched and wrote Reclaiming The West: The Coal Industry and Surface-Mined Lands, (INFORM, 1980) under a grant from, among others, the Rockefeller Bros. Fund.
