Former Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina. During my tenure as Assistant United States Attorney, I handled numerous high-profile matters involving national security, cyber-crime, financial fraud, as well as a heavy docket of violent crime and drug offenses. In addition, I’ve handled a large volume of appellate work for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, Compassionate Release Responses, and First Step Act Responses.I’ve worked closely with enforcement agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and a range of other federal, state, and local enforcement agencies and task forces.Between 2017 and 2021, I statistically led the EDNC in criminal prosecutions, case load volume, and helped the office to more than double the number of criminal prosecutions prior to my arrival. I strategically worked closely with law enforcement to develop a plan to reduce crime rates across the EDNC. Starting in 2019, I served as a member of the Attorney General’s Project Guardian Initiative, which counseled the Attorney General of the United States on matters of policy, procedure, and management of firearms prosecutions.I’m an accomplished trial attorney with an average of 3 jury trials a year as a federal prosecutor. These matters have included drug trafficking, white collar offenses, Hobbs Act Robberies, and crimes of violence. I have also received numerous commendations from federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies for my roles in investigations and prosecutions. For example, I received the FBI Award for Excellence (2020) and the National PSN Award for Outstanding Partnership (2020). Additionally in 2021, I helped establish and participate in the USAO Moot Court Training for FBI Human Confidential Sources. This program is the first of its kind and has received outstanding praise from the Department of Justice and the FBI.
