I have a humane approach to supporting families in socially complex circumstances and protecting children at high risk of suffering significant harm. I have extensive experience in relationship-based and evidence-informed social work and have developed in-depth knowledge and skills in family support, child protection, care planning and rehabilitation.I have been a Team Manager in an Inner London Local Authority’s Safeguarding and Family Support Service for the past four years where I supervise a team of five social workers and am accountable for the quality of their practice and decision-making. I am responsible for managing risk, progressing cases toward permanence and quality assuring reports for children subject to care proceedings, child protection, child in need and looked after children plans.I have worked in the child protection sector for over 13 years in multi-cultural communities and am experienced in assessing parenting capacity and providing therapeutic interventions for families affected by trauma, mental health difficulties, substance and alcohol misuse, domestic and sexual abuse, learning difficulties, child sexual and criminal exploitation.I have completed a wide range of court directed assessments including parenting assessments (including PAMS and pre-birth), together and apart assessments, risk assessments, viability and connected persons assessments and special guardianship reports. I have routinely made recommendations to the Family Courts and have also managed complex cases involving international child abduction and suspected child homicide through the High Court and given oral evidence to both UK and US Courts.I am trained in child observation and have been a qualified Systemic Practitioner since 2010. I am also trained in evidence-based social work tools such as PAMS assessments for parents with additional learning needs; AIM assessments for children with problematic or harmful sexual behaviour; and Parent Development Interviews for parents with personality difficulties.I am registered with Social Work England as a social worker (SW95515), have an enhanced DBS and professional indemnity insurance. I am a member of Nalgro, CoramBAAF, and the Association of Family Therapy. I am based in London however I am able to travel across the UK and to foreign countries to complete assessments if needed.
